We learn that the systems that we develop, whether we like it or not, are systems of connection among people. The fact that the connection is corrupted is because people put themselves into the technique, the technology. What do we discover in the world? How do we evolve? I discover in the world the rules of the world, and I use them. Wasn’t there electricity before me in the world? I only discover, right? Discover additional systems that exist in nature and use them.
So, on the one hand we are discovering on our level communication systems between parts of reality, at the still, vegetative, animate and speaking degrees of nature. On the other hand, within the systems that we are developing we put our own ego and no one wants to be connected to another. I don’t want to give myself to the world. I discover technical systems; I build them, new technologies and everything. But the attitude that I put into that connection that I have built is anti connection.
We constantly breed different desires, whatever they are. Our development depends on the level of these desires. In the beginning our desires are on the lowest level, the so-called animal desires. Later these are followed by desires for wealth, honor, social position and so on. On a higher level are the desires for knowledge, music, art, culture, etc. Finally, we find the more elevated desire for spirituality. Such desires gradually appear in the souls after many incarnations in this world or, as we say, with the development of generations. First the souls living exclusively in their animal nature life were incarnated in our world. Then, next generations of souls experienced the desire for money, honor and power. Finally, these gave way to the desire for sciences and for something higher that the sciences cannot provide.
First of all, what is love? Everyone thinks that it exists in our world. We want to feel it, and possibly, we are even ready to love somebody. But what does the notion of “love” mean? Scientists have not discovered it yet, but now they are beginning to see that genes determine everything; that there are genes that determine a person’s inclination towards theft or murder for instance. Perhaps there is a love gene? If someone does not have this gene, then can that person be held responsible for not being able to love? If everything depends on genes?
What is love? What does it mean that I love someone or something? I love what brings me pleasure. This is clear. If something brings me suffering, I hate the source of my suffering. I draw closer to someone I love, I desire to establish a connection with that person, to be together. But the moment I discover that possibly, this is not so good for me, I start to cool off and move away.
When the human body dies, the soul passes to a new-born one. From one life to the next the soul gradually accumulates readiness to manifest in man. He lives many lives without feeling his soul – an aspiration to the upper world. Don’t confuse it with the earthly “aspiration to loftiness”, which normally stands for creativity, poetry, music and art.
What is music? It is an emotion, captured in its evolvement. Only music can deliver the process of transforming feelings through time. The more evolved man’s feelings are, the more he will delight in what is heard. A sensitive man opens an entire world for himself in music, undergoes different emotional states from bliss to tragedy. And the more man develops his feelings, the more intricately he will sense that which the music transmits.
Today for the first time in history, man developed weapons that enable one person to destroy the entire world. In the past a rifle or some other weapon could kill one person. With a machine gun perhaps you could kill a hundred, or a thousand people, but today that’s not the case. In other words, we are beginning to see that if one isn’t connected to the whole world, (even though he himself is dependent upon the world) the world itself is dependent upon him, for better or for worse.
We have to balance the system, otherwise… We have two systems, one above the other, the technological system and the mental one. If you do not correct the feelings of people toward the world so that they feel that the whole world is theirs, the system is not going to work, and neither is the other. We have yet to discover this.
It is also very easy for a woman to place herself under the Upper Light. She does it without the group and friends, but by studying in the same way as everyone else, that is, by listening to the lessons and helping the men’s group, helping in dissemination and doing absolutely everything except unification or that which men have to do in the group. Everything else is a part of a woman’s responsibility in order to attract the Upper Light. And the influence on her is the same as on a man.
