People who have experienced clinical death have in part sensed this Upper light, and later describe a special magical heavenly sensation of peace and joy. This gradual filling of empty spaces leads all the souls toward the state of final correction and perfection. There is no time in the Upper world as time disappears because all these states are perfect. The same goes for the narrative of the Torah: there is no separation of time and all the events are connected only through cause-and-effect-relationships. We will see that man was created on the sixth day and existed for just a few hours before committing a sin and falling into the lower world. With him fell the entire world.
We come to an inquiry with regard to the spiritual from a want, a lack of something. What this “something” is we are not sure. We simply know that we are missing something; and our failures in our search to fulfill this lack seem to have only made it grow larger.
At some point, for the luckiest of those who sense this lack, which cannot be filled anywhere within our world, we somehow find ourselves picking up a book, hearing a lecture, or browsing a website we have discovered addresses this mysterious lack.
Today science has made it possible the transplantation of the different body organs. If not now, then after a few decades or a few hundreds of years it will be possible to transplant virtually every body organ. In this case, it is still unclear what is so particular about a human body. Maybe each body is meant for a particular soul? According to this theory, body is a function of the soul, and aggregated souls shape the body, or its form. But claims of this sort are not in congruence with the reality of organ transplants. Does it affect the soul? Or maybe on the contrary, changes in the soul lead to changes in the body?
We already know how to fulfill our earthly and human needs, but when the desire for spirituality awakens, we no longer know how to soothe it.
Most people with a desire for spirituality today aren’t even aware that they have it. Some of these people with a desire for spirituality might even be despising the very word “spirituality” thinking that such people feel their lives empty and purposeless, without knowing that it is due to this new, more evolved desire for spirituality awakening in them. They are unaware that this is the reason for their dissatisfaction and discontentment with life.
The goal of uniting humanity, despite our differences and alienation, is to discover a new level of bonding, beyond the different traits and characters. At that level, every person uses his or her unique capabilities to contribute to the whole, and thus enhance the connection of each individual with the whole of humanity and the whole universe. In doing so, we will create a network of desires, thoughts and aspirations, all leading to the same goal — unity, love.
Regardless of the fact that we can’t determine our basis, who and how to be born, we can influence these factors by choosing our surroundings, i.e. friends, books and teachers. However, having chosen the environment, we let it shape our future conditions.
Initially there is an opportunity to freely choose such teachers, books and friends that will inspire good thoughts. Unless man does that, he will naturally find himself in bad surroundings reading useless books (there are plenty of them and they are much more pleasant), and, as a result, will definitely receive a poor education and fail to act correctly in life.
