The science of Kabbalah explains that there is no perceptible reality at all outside us. We influence nothing outside us because we perceive nothing outside us. Outside us, there is only constant Upper Light. The entire world is within us, and we feel that we are influenced from the outside because we are created this way.
If we exit our world, we begin to see how the Upper Light gives birth to ever newer pictures of the world within us. This entire world then becomes small and restricted. We see how the Upper Light determines the way we perceive ourselves and the environment, and we ultimately begin to control this process.
What can be done during our time? Nothing. You and I will not correct the world because it is moving towards an even bigger un-correctness, a manifestation of what was given to it: the breaking that existed in it from the beginning. Families will fall apart, society will fall apart completely, and people will not feel any boundaries at all, children will not feel like they are close to their parents, drug addiction and everything else will become universal. This is what awaits us.
And this is only a minor part of the common crisis that must bring man towards the only decision that “I need to see a full picture of the world in order to act properly. I will not stick my hand into the fire knowing that I will burn myself. Accordingly, it is necessary for me to know the way everything works and then I will always be able to act properly by seeing the clear picture of the world.” And then man will come to Kabbalah. But until then…
When we hear about the world being inflicted with murder, war, violence, terrorism, we must work on ourselves in order to feel that this is the best possible thing in our world. For these things seem evil only to uncorrected souls. Hence, there is no other choice but to rise spiritually, correct our Kelim so that we perceive all the bad things that we heard about or witnessed as good. We have to concern ourselves with one thing only: correction of our Kelim and ascent to the level that emanates the spiritual pleasure. From there we will see how good this is for us and the entire world in general.
The whole road of a man is the road of mastering the upper world, the road of receiving a spiritual vessel consisting of seven attributes and correcting it.
A man receives all of these attributes uncorrected. He should gradually correct them within himself, and he is mastering the spiritual world step by step, beginning to sense it more and more. A man starts sensing the spiritual world. He comprehends himself, his small selfish desires, his disposition to squabbles, theft, minor mean actions, betrayal, search of injustice. In the contrast between his attributes and comprehension of the spiritual, a man starts hating his attributes. This very hate makes him ask the Creator to change these despicable attributes to spiritual virtues.
