If there is a cure for the disease, the only one who becomes cured is the one who accepts it with all punctuality and believes that it was received from the Doctor of all patients, who intentionally discloses to us our disease – so that we must take his medicine.

Man doesn’t get blamed because he fell ill – but only for not taking a medication as prescribed. A medicine has the healing power. All we are fighting for is to make you take that medicine: open a book, tune yourself up, keenly listen to the lesson, prepare yourself for it, develop a need for healing. In response to this need and the feeling of disease, the medication comes to the extent a person demands it.

There is a law: «One and another against each other were made by the Creator» – sickness, evil, selfishness, and against these are the good beginning and the light. But the key is in our hands: let the light influence what it’s opposed to – to our selfishness. And then the ego will be corrected, and they both become as one, which is called «dual goodness».

How can we put our freedom of choice into action and let the light act on us? Only by considering the importance of the goal. In everyday life we make the same calculation: “Is it worthwhile to care about our health? What do I get if I’m healthy?” I have to keep myself busy by doing some exercise, following the diet, and so on. It is easier to give up on my health – and let it go.

That is, I don’t really care about being healthy. Well, in our ordinary life this is understandable, because, sooner or later, my life comes to the end. And we see that even the best health does not help anyone to live forever.

But if we talk about the spiritual and eternal life, then our only problem – is the lack of importance of the goal, which is hidden from us. We need to make sure that the greatness of the goal will be perceived by us as the biggest need.

Question: Why do we need to disclose the science of Kabbalah, if it directly addresses only people with a point in the heart ( ie. people who originally want to reach the Creator) and has no direct relationship to the rest?

He wants to rise above them and the whole world! That is, a man is awakened by the Upper Force and thus the development of his point in the heart begins. He’s attracted and moves ahead.

On the other hand, there is development when a person is awakened and pushed from behind by the miseries and sufferings as are evident everywhere around the world. While developing in his point in the heart, the person feels the need for light, the urge for the so-called upper partsuf. But others are dissatisfied by a bad life as they feel it.  These are different types of development – supposedly opposing each other: in one case – a thrust forward, and in another – a pushing from behind.

But pushing from behind is special. This is not the push which some individuals  received in past generations as a stimulus of spiritual advancement. Today all of humanity feels this shoving pressure. But even before people received miseries just to move them forward, didn’t they? It’s true, but nowadays there is the realization that the troubles come from the lack of unity among people: the global crisis is the overall problem! In this general distress it becomes evident that it arises because we are not connected. In other words, through the physical impact reveals the need in spirituality.

It turns out that if people, that is, the whole world, want to succeed in earthly life, they should unite with each other – it is very clear and, I would say, it is spiritually healthy connection. We can’t say that humanity doesn’t need that, on a contrary, it’s all that it needs.

Question: Why does the question, «What is the meaning of my life?» come to the human mind and does not bother animals?

Any unfilled desire asks «What is the meaning of my life?» Baal Sulam said that even a flea, which hustles about getting its daily bread, too, prays to the Creator. It also has this sense of lack, an empty desire, and it’s always directed to the source of delight. But we are not talking about desires, which are at the level of shoresh (root) as well as the first, second, and third levels, and begin to speak only of the desire of the fourth stage (dalet) and even the stage dalet be-dalet (fourth stage at dalet’s level) in our development.

Therefore, those in whom this issue becomes more mature, ie. people with larger, more determined desires, are on the top of the pyramid. Those, in whom the question is caused by smaller desires are in the middle or even at the base of the pyramid. The question: «What is the meaning of my life?» is always asked and even a tiny desire can be defined in such a way. But in the Kabbalah, while asking the question: «What is the meaning of my life?» we address it to Whom it is being enjoyed – that desire is already explored.

For example, as a result of the crisis we will come to a state when it becomes obvious that it is necessary to give to each other. Only if I give you a piece, and you give me a piece – only in such a way we get our pieces, but otherwise – not! We really will feel this: it won’t be that you earn and get paid on the spot, but someone must deliver it to your home. Who? – You don’t know. From where? – You don’t know. When will you receive it – you don’t  know. You depend on how the rest will perform their mutual guarantee, but this can happen only if you are giving it out without any restrictions.

In other words, anything that appears in your house you never bring home, but a truck pulls in and delivers what you want to your residence. And if it  doesn’t come, then you have nothing – and also with the rest. Where does it come from and what good does it bring? It comes from the state where everyone produces and leaves all the results of his labor at the society’s disposal.

Let’s say you produce a product that you personally don’t need, such as screws. Would you eat screws at home after bringing them there? What are you going to do with them? For what you have been producing screws during the day? So you will get what is needed in the form of home delivery in accordance with the ordered list, just as in every country, a so-called consumer basket exists.

So you find yourself dependent on others, and this will be the desired stage, because every time your new reshimot come out, you will be able to perceive them in a society that organizes itself in such a way, as well as helps you. You will want to depend on others, it will be easier to fight your own selfishness, such dependence keeps you alert and pushes you forward. All of sudden you will feel such overwhelming responsibility for your new family, which you had never thought of, and these worries become irresistible.

Gradually mankind becomes wise enough to understand that. There was a time when everyone lived in their fortresses, and was afraid to go outside. The people of Israel have always had very strict and reasonable laws that have been adopted by all. Otherwise a man got killed, and he knew that he had no choice – he must comply with the law. You should explain to them that there is another life. Today those children are afraid to start a fight. Indeed, mankind holds such a large amount of deadly weapons, that everyone is scared. Everyone knows that no one will be saved, and certainly no one can win. Everyone has made a calculation and understands that in the case of war countries turn into ashes – so what can we win on such a path?

What would we fight for – ideas? Who cares about ideas nowadays, when everyone worries only for his wallet. Is it not clear what is going on? There is no politician, who has not been involved in a judicial investigation over how much did he stole or how many he has raped. Forget about an ideology …

Therefore, everyone understands that starting a war does not make sense. However, the problem is that egoism is our nature, which is above us, and it makes us all into whatever it wants. We are afraid that , all of a sudden, we could possess such inducements and lose our mind and then someone clicks on the button and everything would blow up.

When a person is told that we should all unite into a single organism, into one body, he immediately worries: «So, my individuality will be lost? Where would my “I” go? There are such catastrophic changes in America that people who have travelled for a month, come back and can’t recognize the country. A person may sell a wedding ring in order to fill the car with gas – but otherwise he can’t work. Earlier this fall it wasn’t as noticeable but today a simple American lives like a small frightened animal hiding in his place. This is the general feeling.

In such a situation there is no longer a question or fear of losing himself in the general body.  Everyone would be happy to become a hare, which dances and sings along with others: «And we are cool, we are not afraid of a wolf and an owl!» – anything to not feel the terrible fear of the future.

For this a man will drop everything – his personal pride and his assets. He will want socialism, where everyone possesses the same thing, only to emerge from that terrible crisis. He won’t have a choice.

And then he will understand that this must be done not only out of fear … as the saying goes: «At first by pressure and then at his own request». But there is no choice. A man should start with the fact that he feels bad. And then he would say: «It doesn’t matter if I am rich or not! I want to cleave to this lofty power, to the highest divine value – because it belongs to the Creator ». After all, he starts to receive the light and sees that this state is ideal, it is above all his beliefs and standards of good and evil.

We need to learn what «global world» means. It obliges us to unite and establish a new relationship between us: in the workplace, on the streets, everywhere. It’s not necessary to explain in detail, because this thing is coming from the heart of man. If a man is afraid that otherwise he would feel bad, he will treat another person with caution.

All people eventually need to rise to the level of «Man». As it is written: «And everyone discovers me, from small to large ones». There is no soul which would, to some extent, deliberately not participate in the general relationship between the souls. In the state of final corrections we, without exception, will feel ourselves bound with all the rest. Everyone should participate in this connection with the others and reveal through them the vitality of the general body, which is called the Creator.
